According to the Domesday Book, Thorley Manor comprised 4 hides (equivalent to 480 acres) of land, with eight ploughed lands dedicated to arable farming.

Tenants and Community: 

Thorley Manor was home to approximately 27 tenants, reflecting a sizable population for the medieval period. Among the inhabitants were a knight, a priest, and various individuals engaged in agricultural activities and other trades.

Economic Activity: 

The presence of a mill, identified as Twyford Mill, is noted in the Domesday Book, indicating the importance of milling and agricultural production to the local economy. The mill generated an annual rent of 10 shillings (£0.50), contributing to the overall prosperity of the manor.
